Michael J. Venturi is Certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Criminal Law.  This specialist designation is awarded by the Law Society to counsel who have distinguished themselves in practice based upon experience, reputation and dedication to the practice of Criminal Law. 

Michael J. Venturi was born and raised in Coniston, Ontario.  He returned to Sudbury and began his articles with Weaver, Simmons LLP, focusing exclusively in criminal law.  Michael J. Venturi was admitted to the bar on January 28, 2009 and focuses his practice in criminal and quasi-criminal matters.

Michael J. Venturi is a partner at Weaver, Simmons LLP.   Weaver, Simmons LLP is the largest law firm in Northern Ontario, and has serviced the North for over 85 years. 

In his 9 years as counsel, Michael J. Venturi has exclusively practiced criminal law, defending clients charged with impaired driving, ‘over 0.80’, assault, robbery, homicide and offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.   

Mr. Venturi’s practice includes extensive work with clients charged with ‘over 0.80’, and those who are charged with driving while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.  With new Legislation and evolving police techniques for testing, Mr. Venturi is well-versed in defending those clients charged with impaired driving caused by drugs.  He has travelled throughout the province to successfully defended clients charged with these offences.
